Wash Your Words

The concept of Wash Your Words: Langdale Library and Laundry Room :

“We began to hear information about the want for easily accessible washing facilities in the area. This made us wonder if it was possible to build a version of a modern day wash house – somewhere people could come together to wash clothes, but also chat, share wisdom and tell stories.

As ever when working with Leftcoast, at the very heart of the process is the community.
So as we started with the process of co-creative the visual identity with a group of people from around Blackpool. We started out with pads and pens and the concept of community space, with a laundry space and library…

As with any creative brainstorming: we have to start somewhere, some names, concepts, and fingers crossed a pun or two. With the group we cut out elements like books, pegs, clothing lines to see if we could combine them in a playful way.
